Facial wrinkles begin to appear as the underlying collagen and elastin fibers break down with age in the skin. Restylane Lyft, formerly Perlane can be injected to diminish these wrinkles and make them full and plump again.  This dermal filler can be used to augment lips and in the treatment of dark circles under eyes caused by fat loss.

What is Restylane Lyft?

Restylane Lyft comes from the Restylane family of injectable gel dermal fillers. It is a HA (hyaluronic acid) gel filler that consists of non-animal products. With this filler, there is no risk of allergies because HA is a naturally occurring chemical in the body. This dermal filler can easily transform and sculpt the facial contours because of the expandable HA chemical. Restylane Lyft is thicker than Restylane but not as much as Voluma.

 

Where can Restylane Lyft be used?

This filler can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as, smile lines (nasolabial folds), lips, cheeks, under eyes (tear trough deformity) that may cause black circles. This product can also be used for lipstick lines, the corners of the mouth and muppet lines or marionette lines that extend downward from the corners of the mouth to the jawline. This dermal filler product can also be used for wrinkles, lines and furrows of the forehead in conjunction with Botox and the correction of small bumps or irregularities on the nasal bridge.

What are the benefits of Restylane Lyft?

An advantage of this filler product is that no skin testing is required prior to the procedure. Also the hyaluronic acid is a natural body chemical that fills up the skin by attracting water in the tissues to maintain its fill quality giving a natural appearance. This HA dermal filler lasts 6-8 months but may need touch-up, particularly of the lips which undergo constant repetitive movement. When used to treat under-eye dark circles this filler will generally last longest because of limited mechanical movement. This product is also available with lidocaine anesthetic to make your treatment virtually pain-free.
